We've shipped several UX updates this month to streamline workflows around the Console and reduce developer fritch including a new command palette, updated UX for editing secrets and a more detailed apps overview screen.

Command palette

The Console now has a command palette for quickly navigating around and triggering common actions with keyboard shortcuts. Open the palette with the Ctrl + K (or + K on Mac) shortcut, or by clicking the search bar at the top.

You can search for apps, environments or common actions to find what you're looking for. Here it is in action:

We have plans to add many more commands to the palette, as well as making it more contextual based on the screen you're on. We'd also love to hear kinds of commands you'd like to see!

Updated secret editing UX

We've reworked the UX for editing secrets to address a number of issues. The previous experience made it difficult for users to know exactly what changes were made, especially when deploying a large number of changes at once that included a combination of updated and newly created secrets. Additionally, delete actions were instantly saved and deployed, whereas create and update actions were "pre-staged" before hitting "Deploy".

The new UX resolves this inconsistency by making delete actions behave in the same way as other actions. When deleting a secret, it will now be highlighted with a red color and a strike-through, indicated that it is staged for delete.

The new UX also aims to give users much more context about the changes they're about to deploy, by highlighting created and updated secrets in separate colors as well.

New Apps overview screen

We've reworked the Apps screen to give users much more information about apps at a glance, including the members of an app, environments that you have access to, and active integrations including which services the app syncs with.

We've also shipped a host of smaller tweaks and improvements around the Console, including re-designed toasts, a cleaner sidebar and various other improvements.
